They have a shelf life of more than 8 years, and because they contain no mercury or alkalis, they are non-toxic and non-polluting.
PowerBurst batteries, the P80 OEM version and the P100 Polapulse end user pack, all provide a full 6 volts, equivalent to four 1.5 volt AA batteries but at a fraction of their weight or space required to use them.
The battery's chemistry is Leclanche zinc carbon technology.
However, its flat surface area and multiple thin layers maximise performance and minimise resistance, thus enabling the battery to provide a high discharge current of up to 23 amps instantaneously, more than twice the 10 amps of traditional alkaline batteries.
Mark Headington, marketing and technical manager at H-Squared said: "Applications for PowerBurst batteries are endless.
Their 8-year shelf life means that they are well suited to emergency detection applications that can stand dormant for extended periods of time.
"Their non-toxic nature points to applications in toys and other children's products.
And finally, their thinness and weight opens up uses in footwear and clothing, in disposable cellular phones, personal security alarms that fit inside your wallet and battery starters that fit into a car's glove compartment.
"These are only a few of the potential applications there are for this product, we would be delighted to work with any OEM to provide a PowerBurst battery solution.".
