An extensive range of LEMP (lightning) and NEMP (nuclear electromagnetic pulse) protectors provide optimised protection and performance.

Available from Huber+Suhner is an extensive range of LEMP (lightning) and NEMP (nuclear electromagnetic pulse) protectors that provide optimised protection and performance The LEMP protectors are available with versions to allow masthead equipment such as LNAs to be powered via the coaxial cable

At the heart of the protectors are specially designed gas capsules.

Series 3401 lightning protectors have been designed for applications in the range DC up to 1GHz, and the maximum operating frequency can be extended to 2.5GHz with the 3402 Series.

Key to the performance is the gas capsule and internal matching network.

This ensures the broadband RF performance of both series.

Both series are available with the common coaxial connector interfaces, including N Type, 716, SMA, BNC and TNC.

Gas capsule protectors with an integrated high-pass filter are available to provide improved residual pulse performance.

The gas capsule protectors are designed to allow easy construction of protected areas where coaxial cable entry is required; according to the recommended and well-proven protection principle IEC61312-1.

Both the 3401 and 3402 Series feature 10kA (10/350us) and 40kA (8/20us) current-handling capability as well as easy maintenance.

Additionally, Huber+Suhner can provide customers with more specialist gas capsule and quarter-wave protectors for applications where miniature, multiband, high-power or high-frequency protectors are required.
