Close to unity power factor for switchers
HiTek Power has introduced the TEK PFC Series of low-voltage, switch-mode power supplies in low-profile open-frame or fully enclosed configurations.
The new units will meet the increasing demand for compact components for networking equipment, cellular sites and other applications where rack space is at a premium.
For horizontal mounting, the new systems are available in 1U modules as well as a three-module, 1U-high rack for a standard 19in cabinet shelf.
The FM-600 and FM-400 are also available in a 3U 19in rack shelf, for vertical mounting of up to eight modular supplies.
The FM-400 and FM-600 are rated at 400 and 600W, respectively, with active power factor correction to 0.99.
Each model delivers a power density of up to 0.36W/cm3 (6W/in3) and outputs ranging from 12 to 48V DC at efficiencies as high as 86%.
Input voltage is 85-265V AC.
Features include active current sharing and internal ORing devices, plus DC-OK, AC-OK, overtemperature protection and remote on/off indicators (front-panel LEDs on the FM-600).
Both models meet all international safety and emission specifications for all configurations.
