Close to unity power factor for switchers
HiTek Power has introduced the TEK PFC Series of low-voltage, switch-mode power supplies in low-profile open-frame or fully enclosed configurations.
The three members of the family are rated at 120, 240 and 480W.
Typical efficiency of the supplies is better than 87%, allowing them to be convection cooled and increasing the MTBF to a very high figure of 450kh.
The operating temperature range is very wide, at -10 to +70C.
Ripple and noise is less than 50mV peak-to-peak for the 120 and 240W versions and 240mV for the 480W version.
Load regulation is better than 2%.
Standard features include overvoltage, overcurrent and short-circuit protection, and a DC-OK indicator.
The units can be paralleled for use in high-current applications.
The Hi-Rail supplies meet the requirements of the UL1950, UL508, CSA22.2 and EN60 950 safety standards and the EN55022 "B" and EN61000-3-2 Class D EMC standards.
