Close to unity power factor for switchers
HiTek Power has introduced the TEK PFC Series of low-voltage, switch-mode power supplies in low-profile open-frame or fully enclosed configurations.
It is among the first supplies to be developed under HiTek Power's "core engine" strategy, which combines high-voltage technologies in different combinations to offer semicustom supplies for specialised markets, offering an optimal solution, reduced time to market and lower engineering charges.
The XR50 features an integrated AC mains input, thus avoiding the problems of poor regulation and induced noise that can be suffered by units that rely on the system's low-voltage power bus.
It also incorporates a ground-referenced filament supply in a very compact package measuring only 269 x 150 x 105mm.
Maximum output voltage is 50kV and maximum output current is 1mA.
The supply has very high output voltage and current stability, at +/-0.01%/8h after 30min.
The output ripple is also very low, at 0.1% peak-to-peak of rated output voltage.
The unit has very low stored energy of 3.3J, which helps to protect the X-ray tube in arc conditions.
The XR50 is CE marked to meet the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC.
