High stability from X-ray generators
HiTek Power has introduced the XR4K family of X-ray generators, intended for applications in analytical X-ray systems, fluorescence (XRF) and diffraction (XRD) and food industry inspection.
They also incorporate a ground-referenced filament supply in a very compact package measuring only 127 x 76 x 228mm.
The 50kV, 1.2mA supply has output ripple of less than 0.05% +10V peak-to-peak and very high stability of better than +/-0.1% over an 8h period, after 30min warmup.
Line regulation is better than 0.005% for a 10% change in input voltage at rated output power.
Load regulation is better than 0.01% +/-1V from no load to full load, and better than +/-2uA.
Intended for OEM use, the HiGen 60 modules are powered from a 24V DC input and supply up to 60W of output power.
They allow full range control and monitoring of output voltage and current and will operate at full rated output without needing a cooling fan.
The unit's ground-referenced filament drive offers a 0-5.5V, 0-3.5A output.
An integrated beam-current control loop offers precise control.
The modules offer optional functional interlock or safety relay operated with signal feedback.
They also offer flashover and continuous short-circuit protection, with no trip.
They are CE marked as meeting the relevant requirements of the Low Voltage Directive.
The HiGen 60 supplies are among the first to be developed under HiTek Power's "core engine" strategy, which combines high-voltage technologies in different combinations to offer semicustom supplies for specialised markets, offering an optimal solution, reduced time to market and lower engineering charges.
