High stability from X-ray generators
HiTek Power has introduced the XR4K family of X-ray generators, intended for applications in analytical X-ray systems, fluorescence (XRF) and diffraction (XRD) and food industry inspection.
It is supplied as standard with an analogue interface to control beam current and beam voltage, but an optional RS232 interface is also available.
The HiGen 120 uses HiTek Power's isolated microcontroller technology with internal fibre-optic communications, to provide a very accurate and stable beam current.
Uniquely, it includes monitors for both filament voltage and current, measured at the actual filament supply output.
Output ripple is better than 0.1% peak-to-peak and stability is +/-0.1%.
The unit's small size of 28 x 240 x 70mm is ideal for its expected applications in X-ray fluorescence systems for materials analysis and in image-based inspection systems.
Its low profile also makes it suitable for R and D applications that need a rack-mounted supply.
The supply features an integral cooling fan and is offered with custom output connection options to suit a range of X-ray tubes from various manufacturers.
The HiGen 120 is among the first supplies to be developed under HiTek Power's "core engine" strategy, which combines high-voltage technologies in different combinations to offer semicustom supplies for specialised markets, offering an optimal solution, reduced time to market and lower engineering charges.
