X-ray generator power supply for grounded-cathode tubes incorporates high voltage and filament power supply stages and all necessary control circuitry.

HiTek Power has introduced the HG70, a 72W X-ray generator power supply for grounded-cathode tubes, which incorporates the high voltage and filament power supply stages and all necessary control circuitry Measuring only 204 x 73 x 127mm, the new unit is claimed to be the smallest in the market for its power capabilities

The HG70 is supplied from a 24V DC rail and provides up to 60kV for the X-ray tube anode with a maximum current of 1.2mA.

It also provides a low voltage output for the X-ray tube filament, with a current of up to 3.5A and a maximum voltage of 5.5V.

High levels of remote control and monitoring meet the needs of modern X-ray systems to be controlled more finely and the growing need to protect ever-more-expensive tubes.

The new unit has been designed to offer the high stability and low ripple demanded by today's applications.

Ripple on the high voltage output is less than 0.05% +10V peak-to-peak.

Load regulation for voltage is less than 0.01% +/-1V from no load to full load, while for beam current it is less than +/-2uA.

Stability is +/-0.1% over an 8 hour period after 30 minutes warm-up.

Ripple on the filament output is less than 50mV peak-to-peak over the whole operating range.

Control and monitoring is via a 15-way D-type connector and front-panel potentiometers.

It includes control of on/off, high voltage output, maximum and standby filament currents; and monitoring of high voltage output, and beam and filament currents.
