Mobile multimedia technologies on show at 3GSM

VGisitors to the Imagination Technologies stand at 3GSM 2007 can see graphics and video technologies being adopted by manufacturers now for the next generation of mobile multimedia.

With many of its technologies shipping in the latest cellphone, in-car, digital radio and mobile TV products Imagination Technologies is demonstrating how those technologies are evolving to bring further advancements to mobile gaming, UI, entertainment and navigation as well as showing the graphics and video technologies being adopted by manufacturers now for the next generation of mobile multimedia at 3GSM 2007.

On Imagination Technologies' stand show-goers can see the advanced gaming and multimedia capabilities of mobile phone handsets from companies such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Sharp, NEC, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi and Samsung.

Development boards from Imagination's partners, which include Texas Instruments, Renesas, Intel and Freescale, will show the content capabilities coming soon to handsets.

Key demonstrations from Imagination Technologies include: the first public showing of a PowerVR SGX OpenGL ES 2.0 silicon device showing a variety of advanced shader effects; Imagination Technologies multistandard mobile TV IP platform; PowerVR VXD 370 multi-standard, multi-stream HD capable video decoder technology; and PowerVR enabled acceleration of OpenGL ES 1.x, OpenVG, Java and Adobe Flash content.

Imagination Technologies' stand also features demonstrations from software developers including: Acrodea, Aspyr Media, Digital Legends, Futuremark, Firemint, Great Ape Software, Ideaworks3D, Kishonti, NetDimension, Notorious Solutions, Omegame, Polarbit, TAO Group, TAT, Vizrt and Warelex.

Also on show are the latest technologies for mobile digital audio, digital radio, display and mobile video.

These will include the public debut of an Internet radio demo based on Imagination's multithreaded Meta processor, running Linux.

The combination of Internet radio functionality with Imagination's existing DAB and FM technology forms a full radio platform.
