Printers provide traceability for CD-Rs
With a production cycle of just 1.8s per CD-R, Europa Magnetics at Cramlington, Northumberland, is one of the most efficient disk manufacturing plants in Europe.
The new Imaje 7000 series comprises the 10W Imaje 7011 and the 30W Imaje 7031; both capable of meeting the most demanding coding requirements on primary packaging applications, including food and beverage products.
Group Product Manager, Francois Barreau, commented, "The Imaje 7000 series is a major step in scribing laser technology.
With the 7000 series, laser coding will never be the same again; the time of overheating problems, poor printing performance at high speed and limited duty cycles is over.

This next generation of scribing CO2 laser coders feature a 3rd generation laser head that can operate at temperatures up to 35C without the need for external cooling.
The powerful combination of the most advanced galvohead technology with the latest CO2 laser source results in high product throughput (up to 1,000 characters per second) without affecting the quality of the code.
The 7000 series can be easily integrated into most production lines due to its modular design consisting of three separate components; a controller, cable and a laser head.
The controller is housed in a stainless steel cabinet whilst an aluminium body with FDA approved coating protects the laser.
The controller offers easy access to safety features with an emergency stop button, as well as dedicated power and shutter control keys.
The compact laser head offers 0 degree and 90 degree laser beam orientation and ultra flexible interconnecting cable (up to 9 metres).
The unique intuitive user interface features the "iTouch" 12" colour touch screen with easy to recognise icons facilitating menu navigation and printer operation.
A WYSIWYG display with zoom function offers "one stroke" access for variable message editing, whilst multi level user password management and user confirmation ensure safe operation.
With a wide range of languages, characters and fonts available (including specific fonts for thin materials), the 7000 Series can print logos, graphics and one and two dimensional barcodes.
The Imaje 7000 Series represents a cost effective solution for high quality coding and high product throughput, with increased flexibility and improved user friendliness and safety features.
