A new independent website provides an online user community and resource site for developers of ARM powered MCU devices and systems SevensAndNines.com is a web portal focused on providing information and resources for development with ARM MCU development

It is a powerful tool that allows the user to find information about devices, software, tools and development boards, to search for distributors and training, and to look for answers to any queries about development using ARM processor-based MCUs development.

The name SevensAndNines.com refers to the focus of the site, which is centred on the most popular ARM processors used in MCU designs, namely the ARM7 and ARM9 processor families.

A key feature of the website is the chip selector, a parametric search tool that allows the user to find devices from most chip manufacturers and to compare their primary features and characteristics.

This includes a guide to the relevant development boards and tools, and a directory of distributors.

Links are provided to information about other relevant products, and to various additional resources such as code examples and application notes.

The website will be an invaluable resource for all developers and engineers working with ARM processor-based designs.

It is provided and hosted by IAR Systems, with the aim of offering independent information and valuable resources to all ARM developers, and to help them navigate through the transition from 8 and 16bit MCUs to 32bit ARM technology.

A discussion forum on the website allows users to solicit advice from fellow engineers, and to share their own experiences.

A global events calendar offers the facility to find events such as training courses and seminars anywhere in the world "ARM is rapidly becoming the architecture of choice for developers of MCU-based systems addressing a broad range of applications", said John Cornish, VP Marketing, Processors Division, ARM.

"We welcome the launch of this website as another resource to help developers of ARM powered systems locate the information they need".

Added Olle Eriksson, President of IAR Systems: "IAR Systems is proud to be hosting this website, which is open to the whole ARM MCU development community".

"It enjoys the co-operation and support of a wide section of the sector's key players, including semiconductor vendors, software vendors, and tools vendors, who will all work with the user community to provide information and resources".

SevensAndNines.com is independent from any chip manufacturer, and the use of its resources is completely free of charge.

It is supported by leading companies in the field including: Analog Devices, ARM, Atmel,; Digi, Freescale, Luminary Micro, OKI; Philips, Samsung, Sharp, ST Microelectronics and Texas Instruments.
