Tools cut H8 embedded code down to size
IAR Embedded Workbench V2.10 for Renesas H8 comprises a powerful suite of essential build and debug tools for embedded projects using both C and C++.
Because IAR Systems C compilers support both 8051 industry standard MCUs and TI's MSP430 MCU, TI can easily maintain the Zigbee development platform for both MCU architectures.
"We chose IAR Systems because it is the leading provider of software development tools for 8051, and the ultracompact code generation from its C/C++ compilers will reduce development cost of ZigBee based products, as well as decrease the product's power consumption", commented Jarle Boe, Software and Tools Manager of TI Low Power Wireless.
"Using IAR Systems' development tools for this new family of revolutionary ZigBee products allows TI to focus on chip development, and gives our customer a well-proven development platform".
"The on-chip emulation capabilities of the CC2430 combined with the IAR Systems' C-Spy debugger front-end provides customers with the best development tools in the ZigBee market".
"TI is one of the world's leading providers of low-power RF chipsets, and we are excited about the possibilities brought about by the new partnership", added Olle Eriksson, President of IAR Systems.
"The 8051 tools are an important part of our product portfolio".
"We have already seen a good growth in sales of development tools following TI ZigBee design-ins, and with this partnership with a market leader in this technology we aim to secure our pole position as ZigBee tools provider".
IAR Systems will provide a 30 plus 30 days full-featured time-limited version of its C/C++ compiler and debugger tools with each TI CC2430ZDK ZigBee development kit.
All the communication software used by TI is based on the IAR Systems tools, yielding maximum stability and lowest possible memory footprint.
IAR Systems has also adapted its C-SPY debugger to the TI reference platform, enabling seamless development and debugging of the CC2430ZDK from IAR Embedded Workbench.
