Tools cut H8 embedded code down to size
IAR Embedded Workbench V2.10 for Renesas H8 comprises a powerful suite of essential build and debug tools for embedded projects using both C and C++.
It contains both generic global optimisations and low-level chip-specific optimisations that ensure a small code sise, while supporting 8051-specific memory attributes in C++.
IAR Embedded Workbench offers all the advantages of C++ programming for small 8bit targets and includes run-time libraries with complete source code.
Other benefits include relocating 8051 assembler, linker and librarian tools, and ready-made C/C++ and assembler peripheral register definition files.
Where applicable, multiple code and data models are offered.
An extensive set of language features is provided for PROMable embedded code, including memory keywords, intrinsic functions, interrupt functions, and memory-mapped I/O ports.
User control of register usage guarantees optimal performance, while support for DATA, IDATA, XDATA, PDATA and BDATA and support for multiple DPTR in compiler and libraries provides versatile operation.
Additional features include bitwise addressing for SFRs; and the ability to use up to 32 virtual registers.
Highly optimised re-entrant code models make the project portable between different targets without the need to change IDE.
Silicon Labs 8bit mixed-signal MCUs feature a high-speed pipelined 8051 CPU, ISP Flash memory and on-chip JTAG-based debug in each device.
Silicon Labs MCUs also have a configurable high-performance core of up to 100MIPS and in-system programmability to provide the user with complete design flexibility, improved time to market, superior system performance and greater end product differentiation.
