RTOS and file system ease MCU system design
With a small (2Kbyte) memory footprint and an affordable licensing model, the IAR PowerPac RTOS is particularly suited to the low-power microcontroller market.
Embedded tools cover controller continuum
The IAR Embedded Workbench for Freescale S08 supports easy migration from 8bit S08 microcontrollers to 32bit ColdFire devices.
IAR Embedded Workbench V1.20 for Freescale ColdFire is an integrated C/C++ development environment for building and debugging embedded applications.
It provides full support for devices with ColdFire V1, V2 and V3 cores and generates very compact and efficient code.
Highlights in this latest version include a new data model for near relative addressing, additional C-Spy debugger support for P and E microcomputer Cyclone Pro and Cyclone Max, Flash loader drivers, and support for the most recent ColdFire devices.
The KickStart edition included in this kit has a size limitation on compiled code of 16Kbyte for a V1 core and 32Kbyte for a V2 or V3 core.
In addition to this and the full version of IAR Embedded Workbench for ColdFire, a new baseline edition has also been introduced: this has a size limitation on compiled code of 64Kbyte for a V1 core and 128Kbyte for a V2 core.
The development board in IAR KickStart Kit for ColdFire integrates a Freescale MCF52223 microcontroller and features a 2x16 character LCD screen, 16 LEDs, four buttons (GPIO) and PWM to buzzer.
External connections include: a JTAG-BDM26 connector; I2C routed to header pins; three UART connectors (DB9); SPI routed to header pins; USB connector (OTG/host jumper selectable) and a SD/MMC socket.
DC power is supplied to the board either via an external power connector or through IAR J-Link, selectable using a jumper.
An A/D convertor provides output to a to potentiometer, and the board also incorporates a power supply LED indicator and a reset button, as well as a user prototyping area.
The board is fully RoHS compliant.
A BDM26 cable and a USB cable are also included in the kit. Request a free brochure from IAR Systems ...
