IBase Technology has developed a cost effective network security appliance based on the latest VIA CN700 chipset architecture The FWA7304 is a RoHS-compliant security device that provides scalable Ethernet performance in a totally fanless operation

FWA7304 comes with VIA Eden-V4 processors with speeds of 400MHz or 1GHz using a 400MHz front side bus and a DDR2 SO-DIMM socket accommodating up to 1Gbyte memory, offering 18-20% increased network performance levels when compared with VIA Eden-based appliances.

The unit does not require any active cooling, offering much higher reliability and longer life span compared with existing network security platforms.

Designed for the small-medium business (SMB) market, the FWA7304 supports a LAN bypass function that helps ensure all network traffic passing through the device in the event of power failure.

The unit supports flexible data storage with a CompactFlash socket and a 2.5in hard disk drive.

The onboard Mini PCI slot offers an upgrade path for additional products like wireless modules.
