Ample's Internet appliance solution is composed of three SPI-4.2 based Ethernet network interface cards (NIC) featuring Ample's Harrier family of 24-port and 12-port 10/100/1000Mbit/s Ethernet MAC devices and a new 5Gbit/s packet processing card, featuring the IDT 75K62134 NSE.
The NIC solution offers footprint and software compatibility for full-rate and intelligently oversubscribed devices.
Typical applications for the hardware include high-performance secured routing, VPN gateway appliances and VPN-offload blades for routers and switches.
The Internet appliance is available from Ample Communications to OEMs and ODMs desiring to jumpstart their product development.
The Ample solution gives customers the flexibility to develop a custom-made Internet appliance by adding their own differentiated software.
Leveraging Ample Communications' SPI-4.2 based Ethernet NICs, customers have a variety of interface types and capabilities from which to choose.
