The 75K62134 network search engine has been selected by Anagran for inclusion in its new Flow State Aware routers.

IDT's 75K62134 NSE has been selected by Anagran for inclusion in its new, Flow State Aware (FSA) routers The advanced search features of the IDT 75K62134 NSE coupled with its glue-less interface to a wide variety of NPUs and comprehensive hardware and software development package allows seamless integration into new systems

The IDT 75K62134 NSE was the industry's first device with a glue-less integrated Network Processor Forum (NPF) Look-Aside (LA-1) interface to industry-leading network processor units (NPUs) and is targeted at a wide range of applications in the metro, enterprise and access markets.

The device can support up to 256K IPv4 entries, and offers the ability to cascade up to 32 devices in order to support larger databases and enable further functionality into customers' end boxes.

The 75K62134 also supports multiple databases for a variety of applications related to multi-field classification and is available in search widths up to 576 bits.

"Flow control and management become increasingly necessary in broadband networks to achieve and maintain high quality voice, video and other traffic among all end users", said Joon Choi, Director of Product Management, Anagran.

"The IDT 75K62134 NSE solution provides the hardware acceleration critical to meeting our performance goals while its database management feature enables significant power savings".

The FSA router keeps state information about packets associated with individual flows, with the capability to determine duration, rate and byte count per flow.

This information is critical in managing traffic flows to ensure highest levels of quality of service.

The FSA approach to IP routing represents the first significant quality improvement and cost reduction in IP since its inception and enables converging different networks into one IP-based network with end-to-end QoS enforced.

"Anagran has a relatively unique application for our NSE - a flow state aware router - and we are excited to be a part of their design", said Dave Cech, Director of Marketing for the IDT IP Coprocessor Division.

"The IDT 75K62134 NSE enables Anagran to achieve highly efficient and flexible flow management - which is becoming increasingly more important in supporting revenue generating services and support agreements via IP routing".
