Network search engines found in reference designs

An IDT product story

Chelsio Communications has chosen to incorporate IDT network search engines (NSEs) into its T210 and T204 10GbE TCP/IP offload engine (TOE) reference designs targeted at server and storage systems.

The Chelsio reference designs rely heavily on the feature-rich IDT NSEs to allow mutual customers' end designs more flexibility as well as the ability to use more CPU cycles for data centre, networking storage and high performance cluster computing (HPCC) applications.

The IDT NSEs also allow the Chelsio designs to increase bandwidth, improve overall performance, optimise available power budget and reduce message latency in a cost effective manner.

The IDT NSEs easily integrate into Chelsio-based designs by hooking up to the main TCP/IP offload engine application specific integrated circuit (ASIC).

By offloading the compute-intensive functions, server and storage customers can focus their resources on value-added services enabling faster time to market.

The Chelsio board-level products process complex communications protocols at 10Gbit/s rates, allowing host servers and storage systems to dramatically increase both application performance and communications bandwidth.

The Chelsio T210 and T204 10GbE adapter products have taken advantage of the IDT NSEs performance to achieve record setting performance for both IPv6 and IPv4 networks and in both single-stream and multi-stream categories.
