Both devices are completely configurable through hardware pins or through an SMBus interface and offer both spread-spectrum and non-spread-spectrum options.

Integrated Device Technology has developed optimised PCIe Gen2-based timing solutions designed as companions to its portfolio of PCIe-based switching solutions The IDT 9FG104D generator can be driven with either a 14.318 or 25MHz crystal to provide four PCIe Gen2 reference clocks

An eight-output version (9FG108D) is available for larger applications such as servers.

Both devices are not only Gen2 compliant, but are backward compatible to the PCIe Gen1 specification.

For added flexibility, both devices are completely configurable through hardware pins or through an SMBus interface and offer both spread-spectrum and non-spread-spectrum options.

The IDT PCIe Gen 2 timing portfolio includes both buffers and generators that together provide customers with both cost and design flexibility.

The portfolio contains devices configured with up to 19 total differential output and input choices including both differential and crystal inputs.

The devices offer IDT customers further design flexibility through their availability in a wide variety of packaging options.

The solutions provide root-mean-square phase jitter performance as low as 2ps - providing a significant performance margin improvement to the PCIe Gen2 specification.

The IDT 9FG104D is available in 28-pin SSOP or TSSOP packaging options.

The IDT 9FG108D is available in 48-pin SSOP or TSSOP packaging options.

Both devices are also available in the -40 to +85C industrial temperature range.
