The Chips and Tools conference and exhibition is the European event focusing on microcontrollers and microprocessors, development tools and operating systems It is a platform for manufacturers and distributors to meet and communicate with the users of chips, tools and services

After its very successful premiere in November 2003 in Munich, the organisers InventsUK and ICC Media have decided to expand in 2004.

This year Chips and Tools will be staged in Reading in the UK and in both Karlsruhe and Munich in Germany.

The three events will take place on 21st September, 5th October and 12th October, respectively.

The conference papers are application and solution oriented, highly technical, but not academic.

The papers are about technical trends, basic knowhow, applications and solutions with microcontrollers and microprocessors, development tools and operating systems, system solutions and services.

The conference audience will be mainly design engineers, engineering management and other technical specialists.

The entrance fee for conference delegates (including food and drinks) is GBP 90 for the UK and Eur 120 for Germany.

Major topics of the Chips and Tools conferences will be: microcontroller/microprocessor architectures and families; hardware and software development tools; real-time operating systems; embedded Internet/connectivity; processor-based IPs, PLDs and ASICs; and concepts and services to optimise the design process.

Each conference will feature a total of 24 papers.

Different papers will be presented in the UK and Germany, but the conference programmes in Karlsruhe and Munich will be the same.

The papers will target industrial, automotive, wireless, communications, consumer, computing and medical electronics market segments.

There will be a tabletop exhibition during the conference.

Exhibitors will be vendors and distributors of microcontrollers and microprocessors, development tools and operating systems, system solutions and services.

Current exhibitors include Accelerated Technology UK, Beck IPC, Digi International, GreenHills Software, IAR Systems, Infineon Technologies, Lauterbach, Tektronix UK, Wind River Systems, Zilog and G D Technik.

Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge for all visitors (even if they are not conference delegates).

Further details of papers being presented and information on how to book are available from the event website.
