The Independent Distributors of Electronics Association has established the IDEA European Development Committee.

The European segment of the electronic distribution market continues to face such issues as fraudulent parts, as well as misleading preconceptions and accounts concerning the quality and means by which business is conducted, similar to those currently plaguing the remainder of the industry Recognising the need for a unified representation of the quality and ethical independent distribution market in the European Union, the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) recently set out on a campaign to reach out to this segment with the formation of the IDEA European Development Committee

The committee, chaired by Paul Chinery, Managing Director, Dionics, Coventry, United Kingdom, aims to address the growing needs and issues afflicting the independent distribution channel overseas, thereby garnering additional support for an advocacy campaign promoting quality independent distributors worldwide.

"Already established in the USA, IDEA has not only become a marque of excellence, but is fast becoming the preferred source of supply for OEMs and CEMs", said Chinery.

"The aim is now to mirror this success throughout Europe".
