High performance 6U CompactPCI board is powered by one or two of Freescale's most advanced 1.4GHz MPC7448 PowerPC processors.

Interface Concept has unveiled a very high performance 6U CompactPCI board, the IC-xe6-cPCIb, powered by one or two of Freescale's most advanced 1.4GHz MPC7448 PowerPC processors This new single or dual processor SBC, being PICMG2.16 compliant, is ideal for use in Defence, Aeronautics, Transportation and Medical fields in which high-performance processing application is required in combination with low power consumption and large communications capabilities

To complete the processor, the board implements a Marvell Discovery III chipset (MV64460).

This chip includes major enhancements such as: data streaming on MPX bus, read memory latency and cache coherency improvements.

The MV64460, adds, on-chip, 2Mbit of high speed burst SRAM, two XOR DMA (useful for RAID, iSCSI) and four IDMA engines.

The memory banks are made of up to 2Gbyte of DDR-ECC SDRAM, up to 256Mbyte Mirror Flash and up to 1Gbyte of soldered NAND Flash.

A quad UART provides four additional asynchronous channels available on P2 connector.

The 64bit PCI/PCI-X bridge allows the IC-xe6-cPCIb to handle two PMC slots with PnIO routed to J3/J5.

Thanks to its SATA controller, the IC-xe6-cPCIb can manage directly four storage devices.

The IC-e6-cPCIb provides one gigabit Ethernet, one console, one USB2 (High/Full speed) and two SATA ports on the front panel.

A 6U rear transition module (option) adds two gigabit Ethernet, two USB2, two SATA, and four RS232/422 ports connections.

PMC I/Os are located on an onboard internal RTM HE10 connector.

The IC-e6-cPCIb basic software is based on Uboot together with a comprehensive power-on built-in test and a set of maintenance tools.

A board support package (BSP) and an enhanced BSP are provided with the board for VxWorks and Linux operating systems.

This board has been designed to meet the most severe environments (standard, extended and rugged grades) Prices start at US $3950.
