IFR Systems has opened a new European HQ for its Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Division at Pin Green, Stevenage, UK The new dedicated location is the result of a $500,000 investment following a re-evaluation of its ATE business and corporate decision to commit to its long-term future

The investment will also result in the creation of new jobs in the ATE Division with an immediate growth of 10% in the workforce.

The new European headquarters brings together under one roof all of IFR's ATE capabilities for the first time and will allow the group to further focus its efforts on addressing the unique requirements of the test and measurement systems' business.

"Today's customers expect an increasingly more bespoke service", reflects Peter Wilson, IFR's new ATE Divisional Manager, "and bringing the complete team together in one dedicated location delivers obvious advantages".

The new 2800m2 building accommodates the division's manufacturing, engineering, service and sales departments as well as demonstration and training facilities.

All worldwide manufacturing of IFR's ATE systems will be undertaken at the new facility.

A key element of ATE business is ongoing application support and IFR currently has Europe's largest programming bureau, providing comprehensive test solutions, from fixture kits to turnkey test solutions, including test management.

The bureau's unique, close involvement with IFRs ATE development and support groups is coupled with extensive knowledge of PCB and equipment manufacture and test requirements.

Teams of experienced and professional engineers hold an industry and technical knowledge that is supported by a broad range of state-of-the-art tools and techniques.

These ensure innovative and cost-effective solutions to the challenging test requirements in today's markets.

"This is an exciting time for IFR and particularly its ATE Division", concludes Peter Wilson.

"The expansion of the new ATE European HQ will further strengthen IFR's position in the test and measurement market".
