Higgs takes charge

Peter Higgs has been appointed Managing Director of IGG Component Technology.

Peter Higgs has been appointed Managing Director of IGG Component Technology , a leading provider of high-reliability electronic, electrical and electromechanical components and related services to the space, aerospace and defence industries.

Higgs has over 30 years' experience in aerospace and defence, including senior engineering and technical roles.

After 22 years with Plessey and GEC Marconi, he served as Managing Director of Stewart Hughes and then as Divisional Managing Director with Smiths Aerospace.

At IGG, Higgs is helping guide the company towards significant growth in its core areas of component testing, evaluation, procurement, long-term storage, engineering consultancy and obsolescence management and mitigation.

The company employs some 55 people, around 60% of whom are engineers and technicians.

More than half of the staff have worked at IGG for at least 10 years.
