IGG Component Technology has formed a strategic partnership with New Chapel Industries, a key UK supplier to the aerospace and defence industry operating through its two wholly owned subsidiaries, New Chapel Electronics and Aero Stanrew.
The alliance enables IGG and New Chapel Industries to share expertise and resources in order to provide customers in the aerospace and defence industries with an unrivalled range of services.
The partnership is not a merger and both companies remain independent, but they will work together when appropriate to ensure that customers benefit from a comprehensive service portfolio.
This encompasses IGG's expertise in component testing and evaluation, parts procurement, long-term storage and obsolescence management, along with New Chapel Industries' capabilities in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems, including cable systems and connector backshells, and Aero Stanrew's experience in the design, prototype and manufacture of custom wound components, electromechanical units and PCBs.
"It's a formidable combination," said IGG managing director, Peter Higgs.
"There is a strong synergy between IGG and New Chapel Industries, and by joining forces as required we can meet virtually every requirement".
Owen Rolfe, Director within New Chapel Industries, added: "Both companies work with customers whose electronic equipment is deployed in harsh environments".
"Together, we will share expertise, capabilities and best practice to provide a total solution with optimum reliability".
Based at Fareham, Hampshire, IGG has supported more than 90 leading equipment manufacturers in 24 countries around the world.
For example, the company is a tier-one supplier to Rolls-Royce and has carried out numerous projects for the European Space Agency.
New Chapel Industries is based at Fairford, Gloucestershire, along with its subsidiary New Chapel Electronics, while Aero Stanrew operates from purpose-built facilities in Barnstaple, Devon.
Aero Stanrew's current projects include work on the Airbus A380, Typhoon Eurofighter, Joint Strike Fighter and Boeing 777.
