Ignios has bolstered its sales channel with a number of key appointments to better serve the needs of its initial customers "Our SystemWeaver IP, which enables easier and more efficient use of multicore chips, is generating interest from European, Asian and North American companies, demonstrating both the increasing prevalence of complex SoC architectures and an increasing recognition that multicore isn't an easy problem to solve", observed Rick Clucas, CEO

IP core manages ARC multiprocessing
A new electronic system level model demonstrates the seamless integration of multiple ARC family 600 cores, using Ignios SystemWeaver multicore-enabling technology.
"Although we will work closely with all of our customers, we recognise the importance of local expertise in identifying and supporting design teams, especially during the adoption of a new technology", added Clucas.
"As a startup, it makes sense for us to use a mixture of direct and third-party sales and support channels, according to market demand".
"We have appointed several consultants, with prior account expertise, to provide sales support for a number of major semiconductor companies".
"We have had good results from this approach, which has enabled us to identify some promising design projects".
As well as account-based consultants, Ignios has selected ARTech to provide geographic sales representation in Israel.
"With their extensive knowledge of the Israeli market and with a portfolio of companies in the semiconductor and IP space, ARTech is well positioned to identify opportunities where Ignios can provide a high level of value", stated Clucas.
In addition, Ignios is building a strong customer-facing technical team led by Keith Ahluwalia, who recently joined Ignios as System Architect.
"We are engaging with design teams that are looking at wide range of different multicore approaches, including homogeneous multiprocessor architectures and SoC designs that contain a variety of heterogeneous processing resources".
"Each of these teams shares the recognition that multicore hardware requires careful system-level management, which is why they are interested in evaluating the capabilities of SystemWeaver".
"With the extensive modelling and implementation work that we have done, we are able to engage with these teams from an early stage of their architectural exploration", explained Ahluwalia.
