Broadband basestation contract set for three years
BeamReach Networks has awarded a three-year manufacturing contract to Isis Surface Mounting of San Jose.
BeamReach Networks, the leading developer of broadband wireless access systems based on adaptive beamforming technology, has awarded a three-year manufacturing contract to Isis Surface Mounting of San Jose, California.
Isis will manufacture the basestations and the subscriber remote units for BeamReach's new generation broadband wireless access system, BeamPlex, now heading into volume production.
As part of the agreement, ISIS's Philippines-based, high-volume manufacturing partner, Integrated Microelectronics (IMI), will provide manufacturing services as volumes increase.
"We chose Isis as our manufacturing partner because we were impressed with their high level of quality during the prototype phase, their responsiveness, and their demonstrated skill in manufacturing RF products", said Bob Kelsch, BeamReach CEO.
"Isis can manufacture both lower volume, complex designs, such as our base stations, as well as high volume, low cost designs, such as our subscriber units, both in the USA and in Asia through their established partnership with IMI".
"We are thrilled to have been awarded the BeamReach manufacturing contract", said Chris Hoolhorst, President of Isis.
"BeamReach has developed a state-of-the-art system and technology with large global market potential that is ideally suited to our expertise and manufacturing capabilities.
We are looking forward to a significant long-term partnership with BeamReach".
