Integrated Microelectronics will exhibit with its subsidiaries Speedy-Tech Electronics and Eazix at Electronica 2006 from 14th to 17th November 2006 in Munich, Germany The group's booth is located at Hall C3 Stand 218 of the Munich Trade Fair Centre

For the first time, Integrated Microelectronics, Speedy-Tech and Eazix will jointly exhibit their comprehensive next-generation electronics manufacturing solutions at Electronica 2006.

The group will showcase its cost-effective design-to-manufacturing solutions that include high value original design manufacturing (ODM) capabilities in power electronics, short-range wireless technologies, and embedded systems; and advanced manufacturing capabilities in flip chip, substrate, and interconnect technologies.

Arthur R Tan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Microelectronics, says: "We are aggressively expanding our business with European OEMs".

"They account for about 15% of our sales revenues and we are increasing their share of the pie by tapping companies in the fast-growing markets of communications, automotive, industrial, and medical electronics".

Tan adds: "Asia is at the forefront of the EMS industry with Asia-based EMS companies handling more and more programs of OEMs all over the world".

"With our innovative technologies and cutting-edge facilities all over Asia backed up by the technical expertise of our advanced manufacturing technology centre in Tustin, California, we hope to capture a sizeable portion of the total EMS opportunities for the region".

The global EMS industry, which includes contract manufacturing and original design manufacturing (ODM) industries, is expected to expand at a compounded annual growth rate of 11.6% from US $189.5 billion in 2005 to $328.4 billion in 2010 based on the report "The worldwide electronics manufacturing services market, Third Edition" published by the Electronic Trend Publications (ETP), an electronics market research firm based in San Jose, California.

EMS providers and original design manufacturers (ODMs) have not come close to penetrating the majority of the electronics assembly market.

In 2005, their penetration rate was only 23.4% of the total costs of goods sold of the original equipment manufacturers, rising to 29% in 2010 according to the ETP report.

The ETP report also says that North American and European EMS and ODM companies are expected to lose market share from 2005 to 2010.

However, the share of Asia-based EMS and ODM companies will increase from 45 to 57% in 2010.

Integrated Microelectronics, which belongs to the group of companies of Ayala Corporation (one of the Philippines' largest and most diversified conglomerates), is a one-stop EMS provider offering core manufacturing capabilities as well as higher value competencies in design and product development, engineering, and supply chain management.

At Electronica 2006 Integrated Microelectronics will be promoting its flip chip products, capabilities in surface mount technology (SMT) assembly with precision alignment, and box-build assembly services.

Together with its ODM partner Eazix, Integrated Microelectronics will showcase its product realisation capability through its wireless products and automotive camera module.

Speedy-Tech, an EMS and power electronics ODM with facilities in China, Singapore, and the Philippines, will be displaying its power electronics products that include power supplies for telecommunications and consumer applications.
