A new company has been established to design and manufacture RF coaxial connector products for the European market.

A new company has been established to design and manufacture RF coaxial connector products for the European market Intelliconnect, based at Chelmsford in Essex, will go some way to reverse recent trends that have seen practically all RF connector manufacture switched from the UK to offshore production facilities and the demise of the specialist manufacturer capable of providing bespoke, customer-specific products

Managing Director Roy Phillips has established Intelliconnect to provide the European electronics and communications industries with a "much requested" source of affordable, high quality, UK manufactured RF coaxial connectors.

"We will specialise in connector solutions", says Phillips, "working with customers to design and produce RF connectors to their exact requirements.

These will generally be new, unique designs, but we are already seeing a lot of interest in re-creating discontinued products that are still needed but no longer made by the traditional connector manufacturing base", he adds.

Intelliconnect will not impose a minimum order quantity/value, and so customers are able to specify and purchase any quantity from a single connector to a million pieces.

Although the company's main focus is custom-designed products, Intelliconnect will also be producing a range of standard RF connector products which it believes will be competitively priced and available to meet short delivery times.

Intelliconnect's management team has more than 100 collective years experience within the connector industry - Roy Phillips is ex-Greenpar and Transradio - and so is well placed to provide informed opinion on the condition of today's connector industry and the demise of UK and European manufacture over the past few years.

"What we are continually being told, tells us that customers prefer local manufacture in the belief that this will give them better quality products, on-time delivery and, in the case of customer-specific solutions, a fast design and prototyping service supported by accessible design engineers.

We aim to meet and even exceed our customers expectations", concludes Phillips.

Intelliconnect is jointly funded by Roy Phillips and his codirectors and the low-voltage lighting specialist company Lab Craft.
