Instant RFID data prevents car theft

Using the RFID data from the key authentication process, Ship2Save's Operation Management System (OMS) and Microsoft's BizTalk Server RFID facilitate and enhance the dealership's asset management systems.
This novel approach assists in the prevention of theft rather than its detection.
The system in place provides a way to authenticate car keys upon their return from a test drive.
An RFID reader captures the tagged key's identifier and relays its presence to central control.
The solution is based on BizTalk Server 2006 R2, which delivers capabilities that extend core process management technologies to connect real-time business processes and leverage intelligent RFID data.
"We worked closely with the client to come up with the design of the system based on specific requirements", explains Amninder Singh, Director of Product Development at Ship2Save.
"However, the realisation of the solution was possible because of the cutting edge tools such as Impinj's Speedway reader and BizTalk Server RFID".
