More power and features from subcompact SBC
Hot on the heels of the success of the Gene-4310, the Gene-5310 improves the subcompact range further by increased functionality and low power CPU capability.
Hot on the heels of the success of the Gene-4310, the Gene-5310 improves the subcompact range further by increased functionality and low power CPU capability.
The Gene-5310 is a highly integrated all-in-one Tillamook 266MHz MMX fanless processor based SBC combining video, audio and network functions.
This compact (only 5.75 x 4in) unit offers all the functions of larger SBCs but still fits in the space of a FDD drive.
The Gene-5310 provides a PCI flat panel controller, dual 10/100BaseT Ethernet ports, an AC-97 audio interface and PC/104 expansion capabilities.
The Trident CBi7 2D/3D graphics controller offers up to 1024 x 768 resolution at 16M colours with UMA 8MB SDRAM display memory.
TV output can also be achieved through the TV Express digital encoder (supports both Pal and NTSC).
Optional LVDS is also available.
Other onboard features include two serial ports (one RS232, one RS232/422/485), one multi-mode parallel port, two USB ports, a floppy disk drive controller and a standard keyboard/PS/2 mouse interface.
The built in high speed PCI IDE controller supports ultra DMA/66 mode supporting two IDE devices.
The Gene-5310 also features power management to minimise power consumption.
It complies with the APM standard and supports three types of power saving features: doze mode, standby mode and suspend mode.
Linux and Windows CE development kits are also available for the Gene-5310.
