Intersil and IDT to work on voice access solutions

Intersil has entered into a collaboration agreement with Integrated Device Technology (IDT) to develop voice access solutions for telecommunications applications.

Intersil has entered into a collaboration agreement with Integrated Device Technology (IDT) to develop voice access solutions for telecommunications applications.

As a result, IDT and Intersil will offer voice access solutions including programmable ICs, evaluation boards, reference designs and support materials for the design of highly integrated, and space saving systems for voice access systems in enterprise, wireless and access network applications.

"This collaboration agreement will help both companies address the fast growing and critical enterprise communications markets with new and innovative solutions", said Larry Sims, vice president and general manager of Communications ICs products at Intersil.

"Each company brings decades of experience and engineering expertise in digital processing and voice communications systems to this endeavour".

IDT's expertise includes communications ASSPs such as telecomms products, ATM switches and SARs, high-speed PHYs, communications processors, and IP coprocessors; the company offers the broadest selection of FIFOs and multiports; and the product mix also incorporates high-performance logic, clock management products and high-speed SRAMs.
