Wi-Fi chipset enables new wireless
telephony

Symbol's NetVision Phone is an 802.11b wireless voice telephone that allows mobile users to make and receive calls from anywhere on a site and can be linked to a PABX for internal and external calls.
The NetVision DataPhone is a combined 802.11b wireless telephone and web client with an integrated bar code scanner that is ideal for data capture in warehousing and logistics.
Both devices use VoIP to allow voice communications over Symbol's Spectrum24 high rate wireless LAN and other wireless data networks.
Each device supports ITU standard H.323 with quality of service (QoS) and voice prioritisation.
The ability to send voice and data over a single wireless network results in significant cost savings with no call charges and allows for the development of new applications that increase productivity and provide better customer service.
