Elantec pair take power at Intersil
Intersil has made two new senior management appointments following the company's acquisition of Elantec Semiconductor.
Intersil has made two new senior management appointments following the company's acquisition of Elantec Semiconductor.
Mohan Maheswaran becomes Vice President and General Manager (VP/GM) of Intersil's Elantec Product Group.
In his new position, he will manage the company's Elantec business in high performance integrated circuits for optical storage (CD and DVD recordable), video and communications markets, as well as power management and high performance op-amp products.
Maheswaran will also serve as an executive officer of Intersil.
He previously served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Elantec and also led the Elantec marketing organisation as its Vice President of Marketing.
Before joining Elantec, Maheswaran was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Allayer Communications, a communications chip company that was acquired by Broadcom Corp.
From 1998 to 2000, he was Vice President of Strategy for IBM Microelectronics, a $6 billion division of IBM.
Prior to this, he was a nine-year veteran of Texas Instruments where he held various positions in marketing, sales, applications and business management.
Maheswaran holds an MBA from Henley Executive Management College in the UK and a BSEE from Surrey University in the UK.
Alden Chauvin also becomes Intersil's new Vice President of Worldwide Sales.
In his new position, he will lead Intersil's worldwide OEM and distributor sales as the company expands its leading positions in the flat panel display, optical storage (CD and DVD recordable), power management and wireless networking markets.
Chauvin will also serve as an executive officer of Intersil.
Chauvin served as Elantec's Vice President of Worldwide Sales since joining the company in April 1999.
