A new family of six high-speed op amps from Intersil includes the Elantec EL8403, billed as the industry's fastest quad rail-to-rail output amplifier.

A new family of six high-speed op amps from Intersil includes the Elantec EL8403, billed as the industry's fastest quad rail-to-rail output amplifier, featuring a 100mV swing-to-rail performance with inputs that reach below ground.

At only 5.6mA per channel, these devices offer exceptional performance while consuming minimal power.

The EL8401 is a lower speed version that operates at 200MHz bandwidth and consumes only 2mA per channel.

Duals of both of these devices include an option for a chip disable functionality, which enables further power savings.

"Intersil has released these parts to serve the burgeoning need for exceptional dynamic range with the power saving inherent in rail-to-rail amplifiers", said Sameer Vuyyuru, Intersil's Director of Marketing for Video and Op Amps.

"Our new EL840x family of quad rail-to-rail amplifiers are ideal for use as dual S-Video amplifiers or high density A/D buffers.

The EL820x family of dual rail-to-rail amplifiers offers single channel S-Video handling capability very economically for the system designer".

The EL8202, EL8203 and EL8403 provide a 3dB bandwidth of 500MHz, 600V/us slew rate and a full rail-to-rail output swing.

They operate from 3 to 5.5V single supplies operation and are available in QSOP16 and SO14 packages.

The EL8200, EL8201 and EL8401 provide a 3dB bandwidth of 200MHz and a 200V/us slew - other features remain the same.
