Intersil has a new family of Linearlink BiCMOS 5V powered, single transceivers that meet both RS485 and RS422 standards for balanced (differential) communication.

Intersil has introduced a new family of Linearlink BiCMOS 5V powered, single transceivers that meet both RS485 and RS422 standards for balanced (differential) communication that are typically deployed for long distance transmission and/or in noisy environments.

The ISL83080E to ISL83088E family of transceivers boast several feature enhancements over the current portfolio including a full fail-safe design, hot swap capability, a fractional unit load to the RS485 bus, three data rate options and greater than 15kV human body model (HBM) ESD protection.

ISL8308x features RS485 I/O pin ESD protection - +/-15kV HBM, class 3 ESD protection (HBM) on all pins - greater than 7kV, true fail-safe (open, short, terminated/floating) receivers, and hot plug circuitry (ISL83080E/82E/83E/85E).
