SantoLight SL-5267 is a nonvolatile, nontoxic, radiation-hardened optical fluid designed especially for optical coupling and light transmission in photonics, display and high-power laser applications.

SantoLight SL-5267 is a nonvolatile, nontoxic, radiation-hardened optical fluid designed especially for optical coupling and light transmission in photonics, display and high-power laser applications.

The product is optically clear from the blue-green to the near IR and a high refractive index of 1.67 ensures improved index matching to high index glasses and semiconductors.

SL-5267 resists yellowing and photochemical degradation in the presence of UV, X-rays and intense laser wavelengths.

SL-5267's high thermo-optic coefficient (-4.9 x 10e-4/C) enables design of improved thermo-optic switches.

Other suitable applications are as an optical grade lens face coolant in projection display optics, an immersion fluid for microscopy, a contact fluid for Abbe refractometry and as an optical test probe coupler for wafer level integrated optics.

Service temperatures for the product are -40 to +300C.

Small quantities (30cm3) are available from stock for prototyping and testing.

A four-page technical datasheet - available from UK distributor Intertronics - describes material properties including optical transmission and refractive index versus wavelength, and tips on substrate preparation.
