Liquid silicone is clearly superior
Opti-tec 7020 is a two-part clear liquid silicone which will cure at room temperature or can be accelerated at increased temperatures.
Some are suitable for use in disposable medical devices (ISO10993), and glass bonding or bonding where transparency is important, as well as optical processing materials and clear silicone encapsulants.
Opti-tec products feature high temperature (and fast cure) epoxies for fibre optic applications, as well as colour change thixotropic and autoclavable variants for potting and similar applications.
High clarity optical grade expoxies are available in the range, as are water soluble temporary adhesives and an optically clear silicone rubber encapsulant.
Says MD Peter Swanson: "We have developed this range to suit the wider optical and electronic markets, so they cover a huge range of applications from fibre optic terminating to endoscope manufacture/repair and from void filling to bonding for polishing, lapping and grinding".
Optic-tec products are available in twin packs, side-by-side double syringe cartridges or in bulk.
