Custom enclosure specialist Inventronics has announced its 2001 second quarter results Although the global telecommunication industry's sudden and dramatic downturn in the first half of this year has presented a challenging environment in which to prosper, Inventronics has increased its sales by 47% and maintained profitable operations compared to the second quarter last year

As the authorised European distributor for Rack Solutions products, IBL Parts has warehouse stock of an exclusive range of rack-mount products.
The largest portion of Inventronics' increased revenues resulted from its Eurocraft acquisition.
Revenues unrelated to the acquisition also increased over last year, and were profitable, because most of Inventronics' sales are to customers serving the local delivery system of the communication network.
This segment of the network, which includes digital subscriber line, cable and wireless systems, remains under-built in relation to its ability to service the growing consumer demand for broadband Internet access.
Inventronics concluded its acquisition of Eurocraft Enclosures of Dudley, England, effective 1st April 2001.
The operations of Eurocraft are consolidated into the Inventronics' financial results for the entire second quarter.
Eurocraft sales for the quarter were $4.7 million, yielding pre-tax earnings of $119,000.
"We are very pleased with Eurocraft's operating results in this quarter", said Dan Stearne, President and CEO of Inventronics.
"The rapid decline in the telecomms market in Europe had a negative impact on the sales we initially anticipated for Eurocraft.
Both the UK and Canadian management teams reacted quickly and decisively to adjust their cost structures to preserve profitability in light of the market turmoil".
Stearne said Inventronics will continue to benefit from the strong consumer demand for broadband Internet access that is compelling telephone, cable and other companies to maintain investment programs directed at connecting the "last mile" of their networks.
Integral to these "last mile" projects are large numbers of interconnect and transmission support systems that are housed in the type of metal enclosures designed, manufactured and supplied by Inventronics.
