EMC lab gains accreditation from car makers
Shanghai-based lab is certified as an A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation) accredited laboratory under AEMCLRP program for EMC testing.
Intertek Automotive Services Shanghai has become an A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation) accredited laboratory under AEMCLRP program for EMC testing.
It can now perform all test methods in Automotive Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) listing by Ford and GM, as it is now the only lab in China, and indeed worldwide, to have full EMC recognition by both Ford and GM.
Intertek's significant investment in new equipment and facilities in Shanghai, with over 2000 square meters of lab/office space, provides comprehensive and state-of-the-art testing capabilities.
Intertek offers EMC testing in radiated emissions, immunity, BCI, conducted transient immunity and emissions and ESD with a focus on interior and electronic components.
These difficult AEMCLRP listings are highly prized in the automotive industry.
After providing a strong history of automotive testing solutions in the US for more than 20 years, Intertek demonstrated its commitment to China with local capabilities.
The establishment of Intertek's automotive lab in Shanghai in 2005 has grown from environmental and reliability testing to today's broad capabilities in EMC.
Intertek achieved AEMCLRP accreditation listing for EMC, and in February 2007 achieved the full methods listing from GM and Ford.
In March 2007, the remaining two AEMCLRP tests were audited (tests only used by DaimlerChrysler) by A2LA.
Chrysler will conduct its own finalisation audit later in the year.
