inSilicon Corp has announced a technology licensing agreement to provide its enabling USB 2.0 communications technology for use in SOC devices from Fujitsu's Electronic Device Group.

inSilicon Corp has announced a technology licensing agreement to provide its enabling USB 2.0 communications technology for use in SOC devices from Fujitsu's Electronic Device Group Under the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu's Electronic Device Group will license the communications technology from inSilicon as part of the company's ongoing emphasis on providing SOC devices to end users

"Adding to our list of major customers, this agreement is yet another validation of the continuing trend of licensing USB 2.0 technology by the industry's top-tier manufacturers", said Robert Nalesnik, vice president of marketing of inSilicon.

"By using our optimised USB 2.0 technology, Fujitsu Electronic Device Group will be able to reduce development costs, gain time to market advantages, and bring advanced technology products to market sooner".

"We have had a very productive relationship with inSilicon since implementing their high-quality USB1.1 macro, and we continue to partner with them so we can respond to our customer's various needs quickly", said Shinpei Hirata, director of solution development department of Fujitsu.
