Oce has chosen Integrated Engineering as technology partner to provide a solution for the ID-Star colour security reader (CSR) With the ID-Star, Oce is able to offer a reader with an e-passport verification solution to its customers

One of Integrated Engineering's specialties is providing optimised RF solutions for demanding environments.

Together with Oce, Integrated Engineering has developed a customised solution, incorporated Integrated Engineering's state-of-the-art ICAO ISO14443-AB reader in combination with a dual antenna.

This solutions allows the ID-Star to read a shielded passport.

The state-of-the-art ID-Star from Oce is a reader specially designed to create colour images of all kinds of documentation, particularly travel documents like passports.

A software application activates and controls the ID-Star.

Via the FireWire interface the reader transfers images it has scanned to a PC for further processing.

All additional processing takes place on the PC and includes features such as real-time verification of document authenticity, character recognition (document reading) and archiving.

This feature has been developed in accordance with the ICAO standard.

The optical data plus the data from the RFID chip ensures a secure identification of the passport holder.
