Paste-in-hole females need less handling

THTR hm 2.0mm hard metric female connectors from In2Connect can save important time and associated PCB assembly costs.
Until now, the most cost-effective means of applying a right-angle female connector was to "press-fit" the connector to the PCB after all the other board components had been placed and reflow soldered.
Now, "press-fit" is no longer the solution of choice.
A logical addition to the standard press-fit right-angle female connectors, these new ept "paste in hole" hm 2.0mm THTR (through-hole technology reflow) types, can be fitted as with all other SMT reflow solder components before processing - thus eliminating the "press-fit" step and double handling of the PCB.
The connector is manufactured with a high-temperature plastic body moulding and can be soldered in a "paste in hole" process with all other surface mount components.
A great deal of design effort has gone into optimising the connector "wafers" to ensure the best possible convection of oven heat for the reflow process.
This all means less time, fewer production steps and lower overall costs.
The business end of the connector retains the same superior ept female, "flexible zone", dual-beam contact design to ensure 250 mating cycles of maintenance-free interconnection.
The connectors are available in the full female hm 2.0mm hard metric product range for the type A, B, C and AB modules with or without ground shields.
