The CMM 220 system is a low cost, commercial off-the-shelf 2mm pitch connector with reliability under even the most extreme environmental conditions and suitable for environments from -55 to +125C

The CMM 220 system available from In2Connect is a low cost, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), 2mm pitch connector with reliability under even the most extreme environmental conditions and suitable for environments from -55 to +125C (IEC68-1) This connector was designed for use in aerospace, instrumentation and control, military and transportation sectors with applications to date including IFES, HUD, mobile radios, power supplies and engine controls - at a fraction of the cost of a MIL-C listed solution

The ITW McMurdo standard for aerospace applications for many years has been the HE 801 and 801CX (mixed layout) series, two part printed circuit board connector system using a 1.27mm staggered pitch with 2.54mm between rows.

These are still manufactured and continue to satisfy the requirements of BS9525, NFC 93-424 and MIL-C 55302 for absolute contact integrity, even under conditions of 13.3 to 2000Hz vibration with random superimposed sinusoids to simulate gunfire.

This new series is similar in board-to-board height and footprint to the popular ITW McMurdo M200/M300 commercial series, but it offers the user the HE 801 "mixed layout" concept; providing the designer with a choice of high frequency, high power, low frequency and fibre optic in a common, space saving footprint at COTS pricing.

As well as male and female crimp contacts; termination styles are also available for straight or right angled through-hole, surface mount and press-fit, along with an extensive range of PCB fixing hardware.

The current rating of the CMM220 connector is 3.3A at 25C and 240V DC; with high power contacts up to 20A and coaxial contacts to 6GHz in 50 and 75ohm impedances.

The high temperature UL94V0 insulator allows infra-red or vapour-phase soldering.

A fully screened version is available.

The contacts themselves are a high reliability design which copes well with extreme vibration, plus an integral jack screw mechanism provides security to the mated pair.

Like its MIL-C bigger brother the CMM 220 connector is rated at 10 to 2000Hz and will withstand 100g for 6ms of shock and 500 duty cycles (mating/unmating).
