New bi-level series of right-angle edgecard connectors offer double the contact points in half the space

In2Connect has Sullins Electronics' newest bi-level series of right-angle 0.050in (1.27mm) and 0.078in (1.98mm) edgecard connectors With two rows of parallel pads on each side of the PCB and two sets of pick-up contacts within the body; these bi-level connectors provide double the contact points in half the space

Specifically engineered for heavy-duty applications, the series can operate successfully while withstanding a continual temperature of 150C .

These new patented connectors are made of a high-density dielectric material to cover a - 65 to +150C operating temperature range.

They have both primary and secondary engagement contact areas, with the secondary area recessed in the card slot.

Moreover, their 0.078in (1.98mm) contact centreline spacing results in four rows at 0.156in (3.96mm) spacing, and the 0.050in (1.27mm) contact centreline spacing results in four rows at 0.100in (2.54 mm) spacing.

Connectors in this new series are available in RoHS compliant versions.

Promoting horizontal board-to-board mounting, these right-angle edge-card connectors are the singular solution to high pin-count, high-temperature applications where space conservation is critical.

They are suitable for employment in environmental and burn-in testing of semiconductors, along with a wide array of industrial, consumer, and commercial usage.

Among the areas of demand for the heavy-duty series are PCB boards used in communication, medical equipment, instrumentation, and automotive R and D.

The UL/CUL approved series is backwards compatible with legacy lower density boards, and forward compatible with boards now used in high-density test environments.

Components accommodate PCB thickness of 0.062in, and are available with 12 to 180 contact positions.

Having selective gold plating, they come with with beryllium copper contacts as standard to ensure contact integrity and reliability.

Additional features include an insulation resistance of 5,000Mohm minimum at 125V DC, and a current rating of 3A.

They are engineered for conventional reflow soldering to optimise manufacturers' throughput and speed products' time to market.

Optional keying and customisation is accommodated.
