Contact bands aid high current applications
Icore's new contact band technology for high current applications will be the main feature on Stand 160 in Hall B4 at Electronica 2004.
A key feature of all Termilock backshells is a multiple-internal-shield termination yoke, which makes them fast and easy to fit, even in applications where the cable has individually shielded cores.
The backshells are, however, equally suitable for applications where the cable has a single overall shield, or where external shield termination is preferred.
Whichever shield termination method is used, the innovative design of the backshells ensures that shield-to-ground resistance is minimised.
The assembly of Icore's Termilock backshells requires no special tools, and a variety of strain-relief systems is available, including clip, clamp and shrink-boot.
Once assembled, the connectors can easily be re-entered to allow for reconfiguration or repair.
Full access to the connector pins is possible without the need to disturb internal shield terminations.
The new low-profile backshells are protected against corrosion by Icore's unique cadmium-free TTH plating system.
In sulphur fog tests, this has been demonstrated to provide protection which is up to 600% as effective as conventional cadmium plating.
Termilock backshells from Icore International incorporate the patented Entra-lok self-locking system, which ensures that connectors using them are retained firmly in place, even when subjected to high levels of vibration and shock.
As it eliminates the need for inconvenient locking wires, the Entra-lok system also allows fast, easy mating and disconnection.
