IPTE sets up shop in China
Integrated Production and Test Engineering (IPTE) has opened two sales offices in the heart of the Chinese electronics industry, Shenzhen (Hong Kong area) and Shanghai.
Integrated Production and Test Engineering (IPTE) has opened two sales offices in the heart of the Chinese electronics industry, Shenzhen (Hong Kong area) and Shanghai.
This is a considerable achievement for IPTE in light of the current global market situation, where many companies have endured redundancies and factory closures as the industry hit recession towards the end of 2001.
The major advantage for this region is of course low labour costs.
With a local market potential of an estimated 1.26 billion consumers, manufacturers require automation to meet the high production volumes, as well as maintaining high quality of product.
It has always been IPTE's philosophy to have strong client service - to be able to offer on-the-spot support to every manufacturing outlet by locating close to client production facilities.
The new China offices will be initially fronted by sales representatives, but with full technical support from IPTE branches in Singapore, IPTE Asia and Autoveyor, as well as the usual support from headquarters in Genk, Belgium.
CEO of IPTE, Huub Baren says, "The start of our offices in this region is a major goal for us in 2002.
It is a logical decision to build a market position in China, where the local market consists of local as well as international electronics manufacturers - a physical presence in China is absolutely required in order to gather order income".
