The Power Pack is configured as a stand-alone module that easily interfaces with commercial laser current drivers and smoothly integrates into OEM systems.

Intense has released the Power Pack 630 high power, fibre-coupled laser modules, with a design that delivers high power and brightness, up to 2.5W at 630nm from a 600um fibre with 0.22 numerical aperture, while operating at low current levels The laser modules employ a turnkey system architecture that combines forced air heat sink and cooling fan, monitor photodiode, thermoelectric cooler and thermistor

For maximum flexibility, the Power Pack is configured as a stand-alone module that easily interfaces with commercial laser current drivers and smoothly integrates into OEM systems.

The Power Pack is designed for such medical and display applications as photodynamic therapy, medical imaging, illumination and entertainment.

"Today's medical and display system developers are focused on smaller size, higher brightness and lower operating power requirements", stated Chris Baker, VP Sales and Marketing at Intense.

"Our Power Pack visible CW laser modules make use of a architecture that provide all this and more in an integrated, turnkey package".

"This reduces overall system costs and makes product development quick and easy".

The Power Pack 630 laser modules are high-power, fibre-coupled laser modules capable of up to 2.5W of visible output from a 600um fibre with 0.22 numerical aperture.

Each module can be configured to interface to a variety of standard fibre output connectors.

The Power Pack 630 is configured as a compact, stand-alone module.

Each module includes an internal visible aiming beam for verifying alignment of laser output to the target.

A 15-pin D connector provides easy integration of I/O signals.

The Power Pack 630 is featured at Photonics West, along with the Intense-HPD series 6000 and series 6100 QWI-enabled, high-power single-emitter laser diodes.

The 6000 series and 6100 series are very high-brightness, single-mode lasers with up to 200mW of kink-free power.

The series 6000 laser diodes are available in wavelengths of 830nm +/-5nm and the series 6100 is available in wavelengths of 980nm +/-5nm and 980nm +/-10nm.

Both are based on the company's Quantum Well Intermixing technology, which increases the brightness and reliability of laser diodes while avoiding the usual problems associated with catastrophic optical mirror damage.
