"Because of recommendations of US, Canadian and World Health Organisation officials as well as the fact that many of our speakers and sponsors have instituted travel restrictions or have expressed concern about travelling to China at this time, postponement of the conference is the most appropriate way to respond to the current situation", said Patricia Kinzer, Conference Director at Intertech.
"Our top priority is the safety and security of our conference attendees, speakers, staff, and other conference participants.
We also thought it would be best to cancel the conference before people started to make travel arrangements and apply for visas".
The conference was to provide a forum for the leading developers, manufacturers, and users of organic light emissive devices (OLEDs) to discuss the potential for this technology in flat panel displays, general illumination and more near-term applications.
