The fourth event in a series of seminars on OLED fabrication will be held in San Francisco next April.

"The fundamentals of OLED fabrication: how to design and manufacture molecular and polymer organic light-emitting devices", will be dedicated to the principles and science of manufacturing OLEDs.

This in-depth and interactive seminar will take place in combination with the 2nd annual Flexible Displays and Electronics conference on 29th-30th April 2004 at the Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco.

The seminar will be led by Dr Ghassan E Jabbour of the Optical Sciences Centre at the University of Arizona, a recognised expert and consultant in the field of fabrication, characterisation, and the testing of organic (polymeric and small-molecule) light-emitting devices for rigid and flexible display applications.

Guest instructors, representing the leading developers, manufacturers and users of OLEDs, will also be on hand to present critical information regarding their work with OLEDs.

Intertech's OLED fabrication seminar will bring together engineers, R and D staff and scientists as well as business managers and executives looking to increase their understanding of OLEDs.

The seminar will give detailed approaches to OLED fabrication techniques with a discussion of their advantages and disadvantages.

Recent developments in this rapidly developing technology will be covered as will: the operational principles of both small molecule and polymer LEDs; basic physics and chemistry of OLEDs; advanced printing techniques; roll-to-roll technology and barrier technology; cathodes and interfaces; and phosphorescent OLEDs.
